Editorial: Onto a New Stage of Revolution
Coming Monday is the New Year day in Burmese traditional calendar. But, in fact, it will bring in not only a Burmese new year, but also a new stage of revolution for our democracy movement. As we all know, about two months ago, National League for Democracy made a proposal of reconciliation to the reviled military regime. NLD made concessions by promising to accept military regime as a form of transitional government. But, in return, NLD wanted military regime to convene a people’s parliament with elected representatives of 1990 elections, the last democratic elections in Burma in which NLD won a huge landslide victory. It is clear that NLD party have made the biggest concession they can ever make without themselves becoming collaborators of military regime. In their reconciliation proposal, NLD offered SPDC regime to hold on to executive power, if legislative power is given to NLD. It looks like a proposal to share power with the reviled military regime. It’s impossible for NLD to make further concessions now. And, SPDC mouthpieces newspapers in Burma are recently denouncing NLD’s proposals signalling regime’s plan to totally neglect NLD’s offers. So what’s SPDC’s plan? How will NLD react? And what do all the rest of us do now? SPDC’s plan is to hole up inside it’s new Jungle capital “Kyet Pyay” practicing international isolationism, relying only on it’s authoritarian brotherhood of Russia-China-North Korea axis, to buy from them weapons of mass destructions. The purchase of nuclear facilities and other weapons will be financed with money from illegal drug trade and revenue from natural-gas sale. SPDC’s rubber-stamp national convention will make a constitution with an enshrinement of eternal military rule. The pro-military Union Solidarity & Development Association will become the main or the only political part in Burma. NLD will probably be declared an illegal organization. Ethnic groups calling for federalism will be crushed down ruthlessly. Military regime’s refusal to accept NLD’s national reconciliation offers despite huge concessions by NLD pushes us onto a new stage of revolution. A stage where there’ll be no longer any chance or any hope of reconciliation. A stage where there will be no compromise or no cease-fire or no negotiations. From now on there will only be an all out confrontation. There is only one destiny for us now_ to destroy the enemy totally. There’s no going back. Of course, it will definitely be a very long and drawn-out up-hill battle for us. But however long the battle will be, we will just go on fighting and fighting and fighting relentlessly and persistently. We’ll go on fighting until we get a complete victory over our enemy, the reviled military regime. We will go on fighting until we destroy the enemy totally. And we will go on fighting until we have caused utter devastation of the enemy. However long it takes and how ever much sacrifices we have to make, we will just try to defeat the enemy totally at any expense. Dr. Tayza ...................................................... Are you suggesting a peoples uprising similar to the situation in Nepal at the
moment? Nay Yu said

Tayza, all the Words a stage. Only a revolution in the revolution. Revolutionary
forces emerge, but the naming and the willing are subjective forces. Only, to
be in the process of change, the subjective , objectifies the forces
(contradiction within limits the subjects relate to other subjects but
temporary/transitional understanding) re-creating both objects and subjective
forces. Towards a permanent revolution. Fear and anxiety are always innate to
human minds, but it is only through mind, mind that one neither distinguish
the subject and object. Material, mental and spiritual progress only exist in
the mind mind, though we try to achieve revolutions through human mind. SHWE BA said _ Dear SPDC
Generals, yes, I agree with the above article. If you are real Buddhists you
must know and accept the truth that nothing is permanent. There is no eternal
role or position for anyone whether SPDC itself, its Generals or Myanmar
Military or USDA (Union Solidarity & Development Association) or anyone of us.
If you all compromise and accept the NLD’s power sharing proposal your future
would be safe. This means yourselves, your families and your ill gotten
properties. Burmese or Myanmar people are kind hearted, forgiving and peaceful
in nature. SPDC_hater said _ Well....to tell you the truth, I really wonder how it will ever be possible with the anti-SPDC organizations not uniting to go against the regime. These organizations have long been crying out slogans without any decent effort. I guess the term "non-violence protests" is used by these organizations as a way of covering up their weaknesses. I am extremely sad that our beautiful capital Rangoon has been shifted to the most remote place in the country. I would be very very grateful to the NLD if they could say at least a sentence against the shifting of capital at least. I hope this is not too much of a request to ask from foreign NLD organizations.......... Noor said _ Dear Dr. Tayza, SPDC is comforting 18 yrs now. They become stronger day by day. All Democrcy countries like India, Bangladesh etc are co-operating more than ever with SPDC. Aunty Sukyi is still in house arrest. What we should do next, we are already in exile. Phoe Htway said _ Dear Sir, let's continue to strive for Democracy in Burma. Let's have clear and reasonable mind rather than reactionary emotional feelings. Let's not allow hatred and anger influence our thinking, speaking and acting. Let's us be brave enough and wise enough to continue to work for national reconciliation, peace and a sustainable democratic system. Let's us be creative enough to make our enemies become our friends. Let's find new approaches to our common goals while staying firm on our believes. Let's avoid ourselves becoming evil while fighting against evil. Thank you. Francisco said _ Dear Dr. Tayza, what will make the US to kick out SPDC? How can we ask them to do something to free Burma from SPDC? l hope they do the same as they did in Iraq, thank you. Insider said _ SPDC will keep on growing its army and the people will keep on suffering unless there's a revolt in the army. That's the whole truth. How shall we awaken the young, nimble brass-hats to side with NLD, the people's party?
