Democracy Campaign Burma Digest
|
This is a true story_ a story about myself! You know I publish this Burma Digest online journal, and sometimes write articles myself here. There are risk and benefits of making a journal. As a political campaign journal, we have more risks or problems. Once I published an interview with a Shan leader, but unfortunately I mis-spelled his name unintentionally, and I got myself in hot water. But usually Shan are nice and kind and good-natured people, and so I got a little bit of blushes only, just that. Another problem is "reader's comments": I sometimes naively regard all emails from readers as readers' comments and put them into next issue's readers' comments section. But some readers regard their emails to me as confidential; a small inconvenience happened once in this way. [Sorry J H] And I once published about a humanitarian program, with an intention of helping it; but unfortunately the program itself was of a sensitive nature and they wanted to keep low profile. So, on request from the dean of the program, I removed it from website to maintain low profile nature of the program. But don't forget that I don't get a single penny from publishing this journal. I am doing this all because of my political passion. This Saturday, I wrote a rather satire-like report called "True Story; Intelligence" based on some interesting insider information I got from a reliable source. And immediately afterwards, I got threats from some very high ranking people who thought the article was aimed at them. So to avoid un-necessary problems_ I had to remove the original "True Story; Intelligence" article_ you are now reading this "True Story modified & rewritten" article. [Don't ask me about media freedom] Anyway, I will go on fighting for democracy and fight against military regime_ I am not a regime apologist. I am pro-Suu, pro-NLD, pro-sanctions and pro-American; and will always be the same. Tayza Thuria
