Editorial: Christmas Spirit

It's Christmas! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

Christmas is a wonderful time_ a time of good spirits, kindness and giving; and sacrifices, as Jesus had done about 2000 years ago.

At such a time, we need to remember the sacrifices done by our heroes of democracy and human-rights for us all.

They have sacrificed their lives, their blood and their youthful years (wasted in prisons); and they have suffered immeasurable amount of pain and torture all for the sake of advancement of democracy and human-rights for us. 

To hail the sacrifices of our democracy heroes, this week we present a special English poem by M. Ghufran, and another one, Burmese poem, by Hein Naing.

And in accordance with the Christmas spirit of giving, we this week discuss about ways and means to help Burmese refugees and poor Burmese children.

Remembering the sacrifices of our heroes, and keeping good Christmas Spirits in mind, we must seriously think what we will do and how much we will give for our people and for noble cause (of campaigning for democracy and human rights).

And we here make a Christmas wish, "May our people be able to establish democratic reforms by peaceful means and may all ethnic groups in our country get equal rights and autonomy in their regions, eventually leading to a sincere national reconciliation which lasts for ever."
