Editorial: Co-ordinated Efforts

Co-operation is the key for the victory of our democratic struggle.

All through the entire 60 years of colonial era, Burmese and ethnic patriots fought deligently for freedom and Independence, but at first those freedom fighters got only utter failures as they fought as individual small groups. As we all know now; they became successful only when they unite unanimously behind a honest and able leader, Bogyoke Aung San and his "Anti-fascist People's liberation" organization, which in fact is an umberalla organization uniting all political and ethnic groups together.

Now we are again under a fascist regime_ a home grown military fascist regime_ and we have a very honest, sincere, internationally respected leader "Aung San Suu Kyi" the daughter of Bogyoke Aung San; and we also already have a national league for democracy under her leadership.

So please let us unite behind the National League for Democracy under the leadership of Aunty Suu.

Only when are we united, we will win!

Yes, it is true that NLD needs to make better efforts to build understanding and trust with ethnic groups_ ethnic groups have been fighting bravely against successive military dictatorships in Burma since early 1960s, long before NLD was born.

We in Burma Digest are trying to build understanding and friendship with ethnic leaders and ethnic groups as much as possible_ since from first issue of Burma Digest, not a single issue of Burma Digest is ever published without ethnic brothers' news and articles on ethnic people's struggles.

On the other hand, we have always 100% supported NLD party and Aunty Suu's leadership_ even our logo is a modified form of NLD flag_ almost countless number of articles have been published in Burma Digest in support of NLD, NCGUB and their policies.

Burma Digest is now running an online petition at www.tayzathuria.org.uk/survey.htm , as a co-ordinated effort with NLD/LA/UK, to appeal United Nations Security Council to take urgent actions on Burma.

Burma Digest will forever go on promoting trust will ethnic brothers and also go on supporting Aunty Suu and the party she represents "National League for Democracy, NLD".
